Photo Essay - The Monastic Life
Mother Immaculata Colin is the mother superior of the Monastery of the Visitation in Snellville, Ga. Twelve nuns live in the Monastery, and they have all taken vows of poverty, obedience and chastity. The Order is cloistered, meaning they do not leave the monastery grounds, but in recent years doctors have stopped making calls to the Monastery, so the sisters have special permission from the Archdiocese of Atlanta to leave the grounds for medical care and grocery shopping. The monastery has been on its 27-acre plot in Snellville for almost 30 years.

Photo Story - Ashley
Ashley Willis was an 18-year old high school student at the time of this story. At the age of 15, Ashley was raped by her stepfather and gave birth to twins, Christian and Christina. She attended the Classic City Performance Learning Center in Athens, Ga., an alternative school that offers child care for students' children. During the course of the story, she gave birth to her third child, Cristal. Ashley is a lesbian, explaining her third pregnancy as a "drunken night" that cost her the relationship she had with her girlfriend Marissa. Ashley is currently finishing her high school degree at a mainstream high school and wants to become an author.
